George Kelly -Partner

George formerly Partner in charge of VAT and Customs advisory and investigations at KPMG has over 18 years advising businesses of all sizes in relation to indirect tax compliance and planning matters. During his time with KPMG he personally handled the largest customs duty investigation ever mounted in the UK leading to a successful outcome for the client. With experience across all industries, George is a leading figure in the field of indirect tax investigations. Prior to join KPMG in 1989 he was a senior investigator with HMRC for 13 years.

Keith Hobson - Partner

Keith’s background encompasses many years of criminal and civil advisory experience having begun his career with HMRC in 1991 advising the Commissioners on general civil matters, then prosecuting and defending numerous VAT evasion and excise smuggling cases, principally in relation to beer, wines, spirits and tobacco. Over the years he has assisted many large multinational clients in discreetly managing sensitive tax compliance issues with the UK. Tax Authorities in relation to customs duties and VAT as well as advising large consumer products clients such as tobacco manufacturers, brewers and also airlines in relation to complex customs and excise matters.
